How
to send a Virtual Gravy Greeting using your own email.
Method
1 & 2 below
How to send a greeting card using your own email
program method 1
If you use Outlook Express or another email program on your computer this should work for you.
1 - While viewing the card or page you would like to send click on file at the top of your screen on your browser.
2 - Click send from the menu that appears.
3 - Click link by email, (not page by email because I find that this does not work as well.)
4 - A new email message should now be open in front of you on the screen with some text in the subject box that you might be better off backspacing out and replacing with something like the following example (Mary has sent you a greeting card)
5 - Type a message to your friend or family member in the message box to go along with the link to the card that is already attached to the email.
6 - Type an email address of the person you are sending to in the to box and click send, your link and message is now on its way.
7 - You might want to try sending a card to yourself just to see how this all works.
Method
2
Address an e-mail message to the person or persons you want to refer the page to.
2. In the body of the message, put in the URL of the page you want to refer.
A URL is an address to a web page. For example, the URL of this page is
http://www.virtualgravy.com/help.htm Look up near the top of your screen
at your browser controls and find the URL to this page, this is where you
would copy the URL from if you were on a greeting card page that you
wanted to send
3. Add a note in the body of the message letting the person know you would like them to follow the link you just put in.
4. Send the message.
5. The person receiving the message can click on the link to bring up the web page in their browser. (AOL recipients may have to copy and paste the URL from the e-mail to their browser.)

mouse clicks. This is very handy for placing a URL in an email message to
send a clickable link to a friend.

For AOL Users
Many AOL users do not realize their
Mail Controls are set to reject incoming Internet e-mail. In an effort to block junk e-mail, they have it set to reject all Internet e-mail or to only accept e-mail from friends and family members.
If your Mail Controls are setup this way, you probably won't be able to receive any e-mail from us, including replies to your questions.
Frequently we find a few of the replies to e-mail from our AOL visitors bounced back to us because of this setting. (And then the person wonders why we didn't reply to them!)
To remedy the problem, go to Keyword: Mail Controls and click on the "Set Up Mail Controls" button. Here's what to do...
1) On AOL, go to the Keyword: Mail Controls
2) Click on the "Set Up Mail Controls" button.
3) Select the screenname you will use to subscribe with.
4) Click the Edit button.
5) make sure your settings will allow you to at least receive e-mail from addresses ending in
@virtualgravy.com
